There are so many misconceptions to any industry. Normally you don't know about them unless you are in said industry directly. Recruiting, Staffing, Human Resources whatever you want to title the business function of acquiring talent and managing their expectations in accordance with the company's expectations of them, is no different in this respect.

As I was watching "Mysteries at the Museum" they were showcasing a wearable computer made in the late 50's early 60's. Amazingly, this device not only accepted input and provided an incredibly accurate output, but it was also Wireless. AMAZING! What was even more interesting was its application. It was designed to show that math could predict the outcome of roulette. It was deemed by its creators to have been 100% successful and now resides at the MIT museum.

I am not a sports fan.    Honestly, I think all of you get paid way too much.    Also, the Owners and Organization have shown over and over again how outwardly greedy they are in their actions.    I guess I lost a lot of my interest in professional sports, when the Seattle Super Sonics went on strike.    Yes, it was that long ago.    From there it all seems downhill for the operations.    Probably the first time I heard of anyone making more than a few hundred grand a year average going on strike.

Recently, and as usual, I checked my list of people who have peeped at my LinkedIn profile. Pretty normal thing to do. I've found following up on those can yield connections that perhaps may not have happened for one reason or another. There was one in particular that caught my attention. The profiles associated with the company are few and with good reason.

Likes, +1's, tweets, postings, blogs, social networks, AAHAHAHAHAH!    Yes, the day of your average Internet worker is hammered with posting and social network interactions.    We take our time to cruise the Internet looking for things of interest, that perhaps others may find interesting as well.    Some actually get paid for doing this “work”.    It can be pretty labor intensive.    Others of us have found it a way to augment our current work model and still others are basic hobbyists to the social networks.

We are on the verge of nay, a precipice of new devices and functionality coming at us from various media channels. So, why do I not feel all tingly and excited about any of the new devices? Because, even though I am a self proclaimed techno-junkie, it feels so good in your hands, when it comes to phones there is a major draw back that comes along with each and every one of them. One, most people were not considering when buying a new "I'm Drooling," piece of technology prior. Now the question is immediately exposed on release, "What are the carrier costs?". It costs how much for the service plan?!?!?

I am always excited when I see a woman put into a position of power and authority.    No, not that excited, I'm given rise by the fact that women do tend to make more compassionate and considerate leaders.    More recently, you can't go two clicks on the internet without seeing something about Marissa Mayer having been appointed to the scandalous Yahoo CEO position. Good for her, that is an awesome recognition for her years at Google.

Recently there was a movement to generate funding for a Tesla museum at his old lab in Wardenclyffe.    This movement has succeeded in a major way.    They have received more donations than required and should be able to start an official Tesla Museum in its rightful place.

Lots of talk going around about Facebook and its IPO.    Even mention that the employees at Facebook might have some deep morale issues.    This would usually mean an employee exodus.    Where will they go?    And who should be looking for them?

OK, so that is a bit on the sensational side of things.  But, if you have more than one social network account you know how much time it can take to utilize that resource to its full potential.  This is why an aggregator is such a valuable tool.  One such social network aggregator is HootSuite.  Like others in this category it brings in your social network updates, search strings and associated account contacts.
